The amazing deal we got on these appliances and the sink are worthy of a post within itself. I must say... I have impressive bargain skills :)

We are very excited with how everything turned out!

Now... on to the NURSERY!

We have been wanting to install new countertops/backsplash/sink/etc. since we bought the house almost 3 years ago. We finally replaced the lovely cream-colored laminate with granite. The laminate was stained and chipped in multiple places. The backsplash hasn't been installed yet but I couldn't wait to post pictures!

We also changed all SEVENTY-TWO pulls in the kitchen. We didn't want to go super modern but we definitely wanted to say goodbye to the nineties.

Odd timing? Yes.

We bought a boat. Most people would say that the summer we have our first baby probably isn't the best time to do this. Our response: there will always be a reason why we shouldn't! So, we bit the bullet and made the purchase. Joe has been wanting a boat forever and he is reducing his workload significantly this summer. Sounds like a good enough excuse to us!

Any old excuse for a party!

We decided to have the family over to let them know the gender of the baby. We asked everyone to vote on what they thought. The final tally ended up being 8 for girl and 7 for boy.

I made cupcakes with blue centers and everyone had to take a bite to find out the gender

We even skyped with family in San Francisco. I literally ripped open a cupcake and held it in front of the camera. It worked great!

(this shirt makes me look more pregnant than I really am... I swear!)

Baby Update

We are having a BOY!!!

This is what I thought all along so it wasn't a big shock. I would have been stunned if they told me it was a girl! Here are a few ultrasound pictures to show off our little man. They sent us home from the appointment with about 6 prints, a video, and a CD of pictures. Pretty darn fancy.

A Valentine Dinner

Joe and I alternate years for planning our Valentines Day and Anniversary. This was Joe's year for planning and he really outdid himself! This year the theme was things I have been craving lately. The most out of character for me is lemon desserts (I blame the girl scouts and their delicious lemon cookies).

We even get dressed up to make it feel more special :)
