A little more navy gone!

A little more blue has left the building.  I have posted before ( and before ... and before) about the large amount of navy blue in the house.  We replaced most of the carpet in the house a few years ago.  We didn't do the basement because we don't really use the space and didn't know what the future would be.  Now that we have a kid that is ready to play, we wanted new (unstained) carpet in the basement.  I really like what we ended up with.  It is a Shaw Carpet and the color is Misty Glen (a taupeish, greyish color).

Close-up... these two pictures definitely show the difference in lighting & flash.  In person, it looks something in the middle of the beige above and grey below... a perfect greige :)

Squeaky Clean

Kamden LOVES bath time. Almost as much as being outside or petting the dogs.

A very late easter post...

We hosted Easter this year.  It was a lot of fun and inspired by Pinterest :)

Sorry the pics are so late!

 The hunt is on...
 Love that Pinterest...

Road Trip to NE

I apologize, I am very behind on posts.

After my big 3-0 weekend, I went to Nebraska to visit my Grandma.  My sister and I hauled 3 kids on a 6+ hour road trip.  It went better than expected.

G-Grandma V & Kamden.  He was ready to get out and explore the farm!

There was a little surprise 60th party planed for my aunt.  I was so glad we were able to be there!

Party animals:
(It was cute.. They really interacted with each other for the first time on this trip... mostly O-dub stealing toys and banging into K)

Cuties in overalls...

I can't get enough of this child!

On the way home, we visited my cousin's family.  They have 2 boys and (and a 3rd on the way!).  Look at the 5 blond boys... could definitely be trouble in the future :)

The "Birthday Season"

I often joke that my birthday isn't just a day, it is a season!
It seems to go on forever with many celebrations.  This year definitely was no exception.  It started on Sunday with a decoy brunch (more on the decoy part later) with my Mom, sister, & cousin.  We went to The Westside Local for some great food but not great service.  They surprised me with 30 gifts for my 30th.  Everything from nail polish (my latest obsession) to pottery throwing classes (an old favorite that I haven't done in years).

On Tuesday, I very good friend took me out for sushi and way too much wine.  She was leaving town so we celebrated a few days early.

On my actual birthday (Thursday), Joe claimed we were going to Cascone's for dinner.  We did go there for dinner but I was expecting it to be just the two of us.  He invited all the family and some friends.  I was completely surprised... again.  This was the reason for the "decoy" brunch, so I wouldn't be suspicious that they were ignoring the big 3-0.

Pictures from dinner:

The next morning is when we left for 5 days in Aruba.  It was more than a week of celebrating!  Not sure what Joe is going to do to make 31 just as special :)
