Fall Fun

Fall means beautiful weather and a lot of fun activities.  We play outside constantly.  The look on Brody's face here makes me think he isn't as big a fan of the cooler weather as we are!

An old neighbor has an organic farm not far from my parent's house.  Not only do they farm organically, they use only draft horses to do the work... No tractors!  Kam was loving the tour we went on.  Especially the 300 chickens!

NKC had a fall kids festival last weekend.  We went there for just a bit before lunch and nap time.  Kamden was surprisingly captivated by a rather long bird show but he loved the hayride!

We hit up the zoo to see the new penguin exhibit. They were pretty darn cute!

The Mizzou tigers might have disappointed us last weekend but these tigers are Kam's favorite.  We have taught him to answer "Jayhawk" when asked what tigers eat for breakfast.  TOO CUTE!

Bros

I am pretty obsessed with setting up these comparison photos.  They are definitely siblings!

Little Helper

Part of Kam's Montessori education is called practical life.  They practice washing windows and tables, pouring, hammering, etc.  He LOVES doing these things around the house.  He helps move laundry and cooks.  I give him a child's knife and he tries to cut up vegetables.  He also like to stir and pour things in to the bowl.

He was constantly pushing a chair over to the kitchen to reach the counters or play in the sink.  When I saw a learning tower, I knew it was perfect for him.  I wasn't a fan of the $200 price tag.  Luckily, I have a handy-dandy dad that was able to build this completely from scrap materials and paint he already had.

Visit from Aunt S

I don't know how I missed this but this post was made weeks ago and it never posted....

Aunt S came to meet Brody shortly after he was born.  She also spent a lot of time bonding with Kam.  Since she doesn't live locally, he is always very shy about playing with her for a bit.  She knew exactly how to win him over though...

Pumpkins!

We planned to visit Weston Red Barn Farm on Saturday but Brody was a mess and it was getting close to lunch/nap time, so it was just too far of a drive.  We went to Alldredge Orchard which is only about 15 minutes from our house.  It was SO cute.  Not quite as great as Weston but definitely good.  They had tractors, hay rides, farm animals, and of course... pumpkins!

Brody wasn't exactly thrilled to be a part of this picture...

Ponies!

They had the cutest chickens running all over the place.  I literally just googled "fluffy-foot chickens" because I am so obsessed with them.  They are called Brahma chickens FYI.

1 Month Update - Brody

Brody is 1 month old today!  I am shocked this picture is taken on time... don't expect that again :)

Dentist & 3 ish weeks old

Kamden had his first dental check-up today.  He totally rocked it.  He has always been slightly obsessed with dental health... to the point that I had to ask the dentist if it was ok that he constantly "borrows" my Sonicare electric toothbrush to brush his teeth (which is definitely ok, by the way... I was only concerned that it was too much for him).

He independently sat in the chair and let the tech do a very through brushing of the teeth.  Then the dentist came to floss, scrap, use some tool to check for decay.  I understand that 6 months from now he might flip out and not allow them to try but I was super impressed with him today.  It helps that the pediatric dentist had quite the set-up to cater to kids.

YAY!!!! Clean Teeth!

Brody is crazy adorable right now.  I caught this picture of him tucking in his bottom lip a bit.  Kamden did this all the time.  I have no idea if this is something all kids do but I love it.

Picture of him napping in the car seat.  He lays like this all the time... I can't imagine it is comfortable!

Hanging out outside during one of the many very warm September evenings.
