Quick Nebraska Trip

Joe had a work trip to Omaha and Lincoln and the kids and I decided to tag along.  We were able to visit with family and have some fun on our own.  We went to the Omaha Zoo while Joe worked Monday.  It was FREEZING.  They have a lot of indoor options but even walking between buildings was painful.  Both the boys really loved the aquarium.  Probably has something to do with the fast moving and bright colored animals.  Kamden was most taken with the Bobcat.  I am referring to the piece of machinery that was in with the giraffes.... not the actual animal (which he barely glanced at).  That boy...

Tuesday I had a few hours to entertain the kids while Joe worked.  We visited the Lincoln Children's Museum and it was PERFECT for my boys.  Kamden probably would have stayed there all day if given the chance.  There was a tractor, fire truck, semi truck cab, police motorcycle, airplane, train, space ship, etc.  Seriously... it was heaven.  There were a lot of other pretend areas like a grocery store, bank, post office, doctor's office, etc.  But you can probably guess where Kamden spent all his time...

The boys driving in the semi truck cab.

Brody loved pushing around the shopping carts.

The tractor cab a screen inside showing images of actual farming.

The fire truck was complete with a hose and coordinating uniforms.

I am so envious that we don't have anything of this scale in KC.  It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Happy 2015!

oh the curls!

I have been dragging my feet to cut Brody's hair because he has adorable curls.  The constant hair in his eyes led me to do a quick trim of the bangs at home.

Then it started to look a bit mullet-ish so I finally got him a proper cut right before Christmas.  Look at those curls!!!!

Don't worry... they left just a few :)

After Christmas

The celebration with Nana took place a couple days after Christmas.  Kamden had a cold and since Aunt C is pregnant, we decided to keep him home.  Brody got to be the star of the day!

Thanks Aunt C for all these pictures :)

Christmas Day

After Christmas morning at home we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for the day.  The first order of business was to play in the sandbox that was new for Christmas.  Sadly, I don't have any pictures but it was fun (the weather was surprisingly warm).  We opened presents early so the kids could still take afternoon naps.

The ball pit was a huge hit!

Kamden trying out his new boots!

My sister got my mom these great tags for her sewn gifts...

We made silhouettes of the 4 grandkids for my mom...

Delicious crab for dinner!!!!!

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning at home!  We attempted to keep the gift giving of too many toys under control by following a simple guide I found online.  They each received 4 gifts plus stockings.  The 4 gifts were pretty basic: Something they want, something they need, something they wear, something they read.

Brody got immediately distracted by yogurt melts that were in his stocking.  He may have enjoyed the entire bag that morning and we couldn't get him interested in any other gifts until they were gone...

Kam got a flashlight in his stocking.  He LOVES flashlights.  When asked about what he got for Christmas, he only talks about the flashlight and the new toothbrush.  THIS is why we don't spend a lot of money on the kids!

Kamden's "want" gift was a balance bike.  I, actually, bought it a long time ago before he was ready.  He has been using the same one at my parent's for awhile now and I was excited to have the same one at home.  We put it together too small and had to adjust it that morning.

Brody's "want" gift was a $5 toy from Ikea.  He really loves it and is surprisingly good at sorting the shapes.  Trust me, we will eventually be VERY equal about money spent on kids.

Christmas Eve

I REALLY need to get caught up on these posts.  This is going to be quick...

Christmas Eve was spent with Grandpa and Grammy this year!  We had our usual fun with fondue and the boys loved the presents.

Where did my ball go?  :)

B LOVES these stuffed animals that sing and move.  We have a few and he just giggles every time!

We enjoyed the tradition of fondue yet again!  The kids, of course, REALLY liked the chocolate part.

Brody's first taste of Christmas Fondue (heavy on the fruit, light on the chocolate)

Thanks to Grammy for taking a bunch of these photos....I forgot my camera.
